Effort searching a piddling in the archives of the Ford forum. The link beneath is to a tread I started a while ago for the Hydraulics on my 3000. My issue still isn't resolved, but I have narrowed it down to the position/draft command adjustments.
To get at both hydraulic filters, drain the fluid, remove the seat, remove the manual top cover, and remove the PTO shaft. I also removed the left floor board, just I can't remember if that was necisary. I also call up there was an access cover on the left side that needed to be removed.
The attached picture is of my tractor after I changed both filters. The rear of the tractor is toward the right, the upper arrow is for the outlet filter, and the lower arrow is for the intake filter.

I don't think it will be possible to remove the filters without removing the pinnacle plate. You will need all the room you lot can go to maneuver the filter assembly around the drive shaft. I was but able to become mine out after removing the PTO shaft and bending the mounting tab on the filter itself. It'southward a very tight fit and unless you have having hydraulic problems, I wouldn't even attempt to clean information technology.
Generic Hy-tran might be ok to use. Check the cross reference table on the oil, if the Ford 134 fluid is listed it will be fine. Otherwise, I wouldn't trust it.
It sounds like you might be new to working on tractors, I highly recommend buying an owners manual and an I&T service manual. These will exist you best references on using and working on the tractor. Good luck.

Howdy, yous say they are not worth cleaning without hydraulic problems but what if you are finding a lot of micro metallic particals in the case lesser? I had to remove the side plate to locate part of the pto housing snap band that had broke off. I found a couple of pieces in the rear section and a couple in the hydraulic surface area.. Would you clean them at that point or just wipe the housing out and reassemble? Just looking for opinion..... Thanks
