I, amid others, watched squid game when it came out last autumn. I was overwhelmed by the sheer impact that it had over popular culture. People were playing the envelope game at school, people made their own squid game cards, etc. I decided to requite squid game a shot, I thought I would hop on the bandwagon also. I didn't. I'm willing to requite squid game credit where credits is due, information technology has more depth than Alice in Borderland in that regard.

Just overall, the plot of Alice in Frontier is much more engaging. The participants don't know when they can leave of the game. Everything about the game is unknown, while in Squid Game, they know how and when they tin leave. Frontier participants also play the game against their will, while Squid Game participants play on their own accord. This adds a sort of edge to Alice in Borderland, something that Squid Game lacks. Not only that, just the games are much more complex. Each one has a different difficulty and a different skill. It's all based off of playing cards, which contributes to the plot.

In squid game, bulk of the time, the guards are the executioners. But in Borderland, people dice by the hands of others and by the games themselves. This is entirely my opinion, but the personal sacrifice was greater in Frontier. Their deaths were unpredictable, while I guessed nigh every squid game expiry.

Every thespian'due south agenda towards each other was unknown in Borderland, adding dust and thrill to the story. Not merely that, only Borderland is gear up in the deserted streets of Tokyo. Squid Game players were held captive in a warehouse nether strict guard. Borderland players have no rules. They take weapons and resources likewise to survive in the city after everyone disappeared.

All in all, squid game wasn't necessarily bad, but overrated. I couldn't connect with the characters and abound an zipper to them, so when they died, I didn't feel as much pain. I prefer Alice in Frontier, which was released well-nigh an entire year before squid game. Likewise, I hated the catastrophe of squid game. Either I missed something or information technology went over my head, but it made absolutely no sense. I gauge you have to fix it up for another season, but really? I was not impressed. Frontier had a much more tasteful catastrophe that fabricated sense and aligned to the plot. That last game though… je sus. Much more interesting than squid game'due south concluding round. It's going to be very easy for them to screw up the 2d squid game season, but I'm going to give them a take chances.

P.S. Alice in Frontier is a manga series. I didn't even know it until I finished the series and looked it up. Usually live action manga and anime is… well… 😧 but Borderland did information technology then well that I couldn't fifty-fifty tell.
